One Place EVERY westerner HAS to Visit At Least Once
Is Belarus, and most especially: ♥️Babruysk♥️ (also spelled "Bobruysk", "Bobruisk", "Babrujsk" and so on).
It doesn't have an amazing architecture (just some restored remnants of the tsarist style, along various soviet-era blocks, and most notably: the typical Russian and Belarusian wooden shacks), or mountains (Belarus = being a part of the Great North European Plains, which stretches from the Ardens to the Urals - is pretty flat), or gorgeous beaches (Belarus is landlocked, and only has a few Lovely Rivers and Lakes), or astonishing Wild Life... so, granted, it is not as instagramable as Nepal, Kenya, Kiribati, or Alaska.
But it has people. Good, kind people, the Best people I have EVER met. And it has different, very different ways of living, of doing things, than the ones known, and practiced, in the World's North-Western parts, the ones surrounding the North Atlantic.
All of you americans and west-europeans, what does any of you all knows of Belarus?
That it has "a bad, tyrannical president"? Wow, one might think, judging by your righteous zealous against "dictators", that your countries, are suxh a perfect haven for Democracy, where the police force NEVER ONCE oppressed a protest, with tear-gas and clubs (if not worse), arrested Peaceful protesters in dark prisons, and what-not.
Besides: here, all those e.u. countries, that do have free elections - what have the majority (if not the entirety...๐ง) of them actually done with that Freedom? Elected neo-nazis!!
After the shameful results of the germ[an] elections last February I, for one, have completely ceased viewing multi-party elections as such a "great idea". Anything which can EVER grant power to fucking neo-nazis(!) is best avoided.
Do y'all know what Belarusians do have?
They have a Green country, which streets are safe and clean, they have public transportation, they have grocery stores within a few minutes walk of Home (sometimes, even, at the ground-level of their apartment-buildings!!), they have medical insurance, they have lunch hours (meaning, a lunch break which lasts a full hour at work), they have a few shorter breaks during the work-day, and many of them do even have A SECOND HOME IN THE VILLAGE - yes, most times that second Home is merely a small shack without running water, but still!!
In Belarus they do things different than in the west. Many things are centralized - even the warm water supply, is not something you need to take care of yourself, but, rather, something taken care of at municipal level. Just imagine - the city supplies your Home with hot water. The Tree-dotted streets are very walkable, and, among the apartment buildings, there are Tree-shaded play-grounds for children. They speak much more quitely and calmly, than in some other countries I can think of, much more civilized. Most drivers respect pedestrians and the law. Any outbursts of violence are EXTREMELY rare, in fact I have a very hard time even remembering one - I do not believe that, in the entire 380 days I had spent living in Babruysk and in Minsk during these two years, I have witnessed even one single case of that. Not even one.
Try and best any of that, americans.
So, listen to me: fucking ignore whatever lies your corrupt governments and corporate mainstream media have been shoving into your mind, and come spend your next vacation in ♥️Babruysk♥️, as well as other cities and towns in ♥️Belarus๐ง๐พ♥️. I guarantee you that it will be worth it. Both for the sake of broadening your horizons, and for your own Peace of Mind.
