A well made documentary. Indeed, even afrer all of this came through, still, during the 1980's, there was still only one single TV broadcasting channel in israel: From 08:00 till 17:30, haṬelevìzya haLimudìth (the Educational / Instructional TV) - and from 17:30, until approximately midnight (or a little before that), haṬelevìzya haKlalìth (the General TV = IBA). As kids growing up on the Eighties, we never heard of "zapping", as, aside from this single channel's broadcast, you could only get those of the neighbouring countries. From the mid-1980's onwards, there had been "experimental broadcasts" for a second channel for a few hours every day: from 18:30 till 22:00, but these were limited - first, to some still photos broadcasts, then (from Spring 1986) to Hebrew popsongs' clips, and, during later years, also direct broadcasts from the israeli parliament, the kneseth, were introduced there during day time for three days a week. By 1990, that second channel was an actual fact, however, aside from the direct broadcasts from the kneseth, it had still only showed prerecorded stuff. That, by the way, had been the year when the number one Drama TV Show of our Youth, the Australian "Home and Away", had first been introduced in israel (I was 15 at the time, and got obsessively addicted to it).

During the 1980's, in the face of continuous government refusal to enable any non-government broadcasts in israel, many people had hooked in to the piratic cabel TV providers, who were famous (or infamous?) for the various Porn flicks they showed during the late hours (and, in quite many cases: at all hours 😉). Sadly, my Family never wanted anything to do with that kind of (highly illegal) service, so, as a child, I had never got to watch said Porn. ☹️

So, by the early 1990's, at last the government did allow for legal private Cabel TV companies to start working in israel, and, from late June 1992, all of a sudden there were over 30 more channels for me to watch, both local ones and from other countries.

And the german ones also had Porn on weekends' late nights. 😃
